![]() I was there when Dave Chapelle, Marlon Waynes and Chris Rock were on stage till 5AM one night. ![]() I've been to the comedy cellar more than the manager Val can imagine. When Milu came up 2 minutes later, she was like "why was the lady being so rude. Uuum? So i started to walk towards the door leading back up to the restaurant and walked back to our table. She told me not to force her to to have to get security. She went ahead and told me "SHE KNEW what I was trying to do!" With the comedian doing a good job on stage, I smiled and reitterated I had walked Milu down to the restroom and was just waiting for her to come out to go back up to oir restaurant table. I told her i was waiting for my girlfriend to come out of the restroom to go back upstairs. While I wanted for my gf, a lady, the manager Val came over and told me I was trying to sneak in to watch the show. There is no restroom on the restaurant floor so we had to walk down where there the comedy show was going on to use the restroom. Last night, we went to get some wings at the Olive Tree restaurant upstairs. I would like to say I used to go to The Comedy Cellar and the Olive Tree years ago and it was always a nice time. I will never attempt to attend a show run by them again. After the line went through, I attempted to reason with them again and they completely wrote me off. I was not only embarrassed by coworkers but my mother as well. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had within the comedy industry. I will never go back or recommend this establishment. I couldn’t believe it until they confirmed they were being serious and told us “maybe you can come back tomorrow night”. This was a Tuesday night and we each had one glass of wine. Whether you show up as a onetime guest or a loyal member, the. (Note: that with my experience in comedy I would absolutely never heckle or disrespect another comedian). That first membership option will run you 925 to 1,200 quarterly, and the latter is priced at 1,800 to 2,400 per quarter. As we proceeded to the front of the line they pulled us aside and said I was “too intoxicated” to attend and they couldn’t put the comics “at risk”. We continued to talk to multiple guests around us about how cool the comedians were and how we drove 3+ hours to see them. We were also with 2 of my business partners who were behind us in line. The bouncer came up to my 68 year old mother and I and wrote “manager” on our phone bags that we had put on silence and seal closed. This show started at 11:30PM so we were just walking back from dinner. I was definitely hyped up to see 2 of my favorite comics in the line up. Tried to go there with my mother and we were so excited!! (Apparently- “too excited”) We made reservations and got there 30 minutes early. We are happy it is now housed indoors so it can be appreciated for many more generations.I’ve been doing stand up comedy for 5+ years. Today it is the focal point of our cellar door and an imposing monument to times past. ![]() We did that, and cooked a veritable feast along the way with the verdict being that it cooked some amazing food with great wood-fired flavour. Nipper Fechner advised us to warm it up slowly, over a week long period, in order to re-temper the masonary and avoid cracking and damaging the oven. Most have been torn down or neglected to a state of ruin.īefore the first test run, (it had been dormant for over 30 years) we consulted the Fechner family who have run the local Apex wood-fired bakery oven since 1924. The wood oven and fireplace at Rusden is one of the few survivors of that era. Publisher Clare Seel had been house-hunting for some time before she finally found the flat of her dreams. They baked bread, cooked meals and smoked meats in an adjoining smokehouse. The pioneers built black kitchens or outside kitchens to minimise the risk of their cottages being burnt down and to keep the heat out of the living quarters in summer. Built circa 1880, at the same time as the original section of the homestead, the wood-fired oven was an integral part of early life for the Kraft family in the Barossa Valley.
